Servin’ the kids, beatin’ the wife

Thursday, April 6th, 2006

All a day’s work for ol’ Arthur L. Nelson Jr,  Oak Ridge’s Anderson County Board of Education member who was arrested for pushing his wife around and bopping her one on the chin.

That was pretty much all I was going to say, but when I was trying to find a picture of Art, I found that he’s the head of Oak Ridge’s chapter of NAACP.  Appears that this guy is a super public hero!

Man, wife abusers just piss me off.  I mean, I laugh at the joke "What do you tell a woman with two black eyes?" just like everybody else, but its pretty immature for a grown man to beat up on a woman that loves him.  I just don’t get it…

Then again, at my house, if I tried to beat up GAC, despite being like a foot and 75 pounds bigger than her, she’d still hand me my ass…

Net neutrality legislation shot down

Not that I was expecting the .gov to come in on a white horse and save us from the thieving bastards who want to get paid twice for traffic coming through their pipes once, but this is a bit disappointing.

I’m not going to expound much about it, because I’ve made my thinking abundantly clear in previous posts, and ArsTechnica, as usual, has an excellent discussion of it.
