About the polar bear... "Henry" said that Walt was stronger than they thought, or something similar, when he let Michael take the boat. It's been hinted at (rather strongly) that Walt may have some sort of psychic power, telekenesis, whatever. There was a polar bear in the comic book Walt had, so it stands to reason (yeah right) that Walt somehow created the bear.
The miraculous healing of Rose and John is (somewhat) explained by the strong electro-magnetic properties of the island. But why does the magnetism not mess with the computer?
Why was Charlie acting all cryptic at the end of the finale? Is he happy that Locke and Eko are gone, since they both recently pissed him off?
I'm sure I'll think of more eventually. Friggin' show.

I'm wondering about the possibility of Charlie being 'compromised'. Between the beating up of Sun, the jealousness guarding of Eko, the freaky drowning baby dreams, and the giving of the medicine gun to Claire (seriously, wouldn't he give it to the doctor?), I think he's a sick little monkey.

you should check out hanso's website if you haven't already. i think walt and micheal will be back. if desmond followed his compass and traveled due west he would go in circles around the magnetic island. however it seems that any sailor would follow the setting sun. or at least notice that he wasn't going west. perhaps his bender was on too thick. so micheal and walt will probably spiral around the island a few times. i was more surprised to see that the others gave micheal and walt their boat. did you see the very end? i thought they were cutting to a commercial break where a couple of russians playing chess were about to partake in a smirnoff ice advertisement.

Yeah, and that one russian looked a lot like Jack. I noticed that too, but mebbe thats a coincidence. Something that crossed my mind is that if that blast at the end was a big EMP like I think it was, it'll jack up that compass in Michaels boat big time, so even if he goes on that course that Henry Gale gave him, he'll be floating around.
Yeah, the setting sun is a big assed plot hole. Seems to me that even with a drunk on, somebody who knows sailing as well as Desmond was supposed to is going to be able to keep the boat moving west. Hell, I could keep a boat moving west, and I don't know crap about sailing, geography, the sun, navigation, astronomy, or physics. I do know a thing or two about drinking.

About that rich girlfriend - I'd bet cash money her dad is a member of the
Hanso Corp. How else would she know to have folks searching for an
electro-magnetic pulse the island might produce.

I don't think they were tracking for an EMP pulse, I think they were searching for a tracking device on the ship. They said, its not a test this time or its real this, something like that. The guy in the hatch had been working on the boat for over three years, during that time he could have tested out the electrionics on the ship and accidentily activated it briefy.

...what I don't get is... if they had the boat why didn't they follow the original plan and just try to escape. I guess I missed that part. I hope Michael and Walt don't come back. That guy is such a whiner. I want Locke to come back and be ok, he was my favorite character. I'm sure he's fine, he's just trapped in the hatch but will be out mid next season. $20 bucks.

I'm just happy to see that there are other people out there who waste as much time as us watching that frustrating show. Whats bugging me is why did the others want Kate? Jack yeah, because he's the guy in charge and Sawyer because he's just plain hot, but why whiny old Kate? Here's a couple more island mysteries: What's the significance of the numbers, how is Hurley connected? And what about the french chick and her daughter, Alex- the one who helped Claire escape and held the gun on Michael and Kate. Around here we've pretty much decided that they're all just making this shit up as they go and no one really knows what's going on.
