					<description>I think because of the over-abundance of accessible media, we're becoming a world obsessed with trend-watching.  Sure, there were trends in furniture and decor in the past, but the waves of "gotta have it" were much slower.  
Furniture was built to sustain, to withstand, to be passed from parent to child for generations.
It's not so much that way any more.  Furniture is built to satisfy whims, to be trendy and modern and &lt;i&gt;now&lt;/i&gt;, not &lt;i&gt;tomorrow&lt;/i&gt;.
It is very much consumerism, and Jonesism, and grass-is-greenerism.  We're a nation of the next big thing.</description>
