His first child with her was born while he was still with his first wife. But yeah, this guy is abusive (mentally, emotionally and perhaps physically), calls his kids while drunk to tell them what a whore their mom is, and has made many threats to their mom's life. He's one of 22(!!!!) kids, and many of them are at his house, rough-necking around. One recently had his eye shot out by another brother when they got into a drunken fight there. And Hess thinks this is a good environment for these kids to live in. Their mom said that another of Hess's offenses regarding her children is that when protective services visited the house, they found absolutely no edible food. I won't vote for her because I have seen a small handful of foolish decisions that she has made, first hand. I'd heard it from other places than just this one mom. No matter why she lost her kids, if a woman is incapable of caring for her own children, no matter what the reason, should she really be making life-altering decisions for other people's children? I don't know if she lost her kids or not, she may have, but the story I heard included the fact that her ex is an attorney with a vindictive streak. Funny things can happen in juvenile court. Things that really don't make much sense to us lay people. I have met with Judge Hess on a couple of occasions. I liked her personally. My step-mother was a CASA worker and had great respect for Judge Hess. Like I said up thread.
