The festival

June 17th, 2006 by Atomictumor

Well, here we are, Saturday morning, nothing to do, while Oak Ridge is throwing a big assed party across town.  And my iconclastic ass doesn’t wanna go.

GAC: “Don’t you want to support your city, AT?”

AT: “grumble”

Aw, g’wan AT. Quit being an old fart. Get some fresh air, get to know your neighbors.

Press the flesh. Kiss some babies. If you’re gonna run for school board, people need to see who they’ll be voting for.

Joel, I think I’ll be too busy in 2007 running for President that I won’t have time for the schoolboard gig.

  3. Joel Says:

I understand. We all have to make choices.

    You have my vote, AT.

Did you end up going up to Jackson Square, BTW?

The concert tonight was worth venturing out for; Blood, Sweat & Tears was amazing (although I’m not sure that any of them were from the original group, the music was right on with a lot of good solo work). The opening act, LB1 (Larry Blair) was equally good, if not even better.

Blair worked the crowd like a master, and both groups had some good funk going. Oak Ridge really could support something on the scale of Sundown in the City, only running through the summer instead of ending in June.

Neato, I’m glad it went well.

I did well myself. I traveled to Nashville to participate in a card tournament, which I won.

    Good times.

(AT - Don’t feel bad, I didn’t want to go either.)

OT, but what happened to the Sunday Haiku?
