I currently own over 500 vinyl LPs. Love 'em. In fact, I love 'em so much, I wish I had the CD versions of each and every one of them (and some, I do).

For obvious reasons, CDs (and digital media, mp3, oog, whatever) is a handier medium. Records are for when you feel like sitting down and enjoying music, knowing that in 30 minutes you'll have to get back up to flip it. For those other occasions, we have either our (intimidating) MP3 collection, or our 300 CD jukebox.
There are some things, tho, that I think should be listened to on nothing but vinyl. Pink Moon, by Nick Drake, I'd never digitize. Same with Nashville Skyline, Meddle, and At Folsom Prison. I'd LOVE to get me some Marquee Moon by Television, or maybe some Talking Heads on record. Rolling Stones from Beggars Banquet until Exile on Main Street would be nice.

Listening to Dexys Midnight runners right now... so far, so good. Listened to Fats Waller a while ago, and it's pretty good. AT won't like it though.
