Arnsdorff, you smug bastard, finish the damn mall!

Oak Ridger (simply because I can’t link to the Observer) has an article on Steve Arnsdorff, who evidently is on the cut and run side of the biggest improvement scam ever. Its the kind of thing that Big Al at Al’s Roofing and Siding would go crazy over, and its played over a whole city.
Sure Steve, the city is courting other developers. Do you think they’ll throw a sissy fit when they see someone elses bulldozers come in?
Hopefully, his reputation as a world class scammer will follow him after this, and it’ll limit his jobs. Then he can try to take the sandbox back from the rest of the 2nd graders he’s used to dealing with, and, with any luck, get kicked square in the nuts.

Well said, AT. I feel so guillible for ever having believed that this man would finish the project. At one point though, I really did.
No longer. I wish he’d sell it and let someone else get on with it… there are so many things this town needs, and it seems that everyone can see it but him. Reckon Rick Chinn worried about how many restaurants there are in Oak Ridge when he bought the old Lakeside Grille? Nah… he just figured out a variant that we don’t have, and put it there.
What don’t we have that could go in a mall (or strip center)? Gee, a shoe store, clothing store, fabric store, a home store, and definitely a Trader Joe’s or Fresh Market. We all need food, clothing, shoes, and linens. A Marble Slab Creamery would go over well.
Please, somebody spank him and send him home.

This may sound like a really ignorant question, but….
Is this an instance that the city could use eminent domain?
