There will be much talking about buses, among regular PTO stuff. If you’re concerned about the whole thang, or have information to share (coughnetmomcough) make an appearance and let them know.
Well, other than you three slackers, Dr. Bailey was a no-show as well. Or he snuck in and out without my noticing. It was a rather good turn-out, as far as WB PTO meetings go. Probably around 45 people, including about 10-15 teachers and assorted staff.
Ms. Miller went through a detailed and informative discussion about how funding is requested, obtained and so-forth. Then we all wrote down questions or comments and handed them in. Ms. Miller read them aloud and then addressed all that she was capable of answering.
It was apparent that many of the parents (myself included to some extent) did not realize the channels a school has to go through to obtain funding, and it was a nice, informative meeting. Intelligent questions were asked, and it was decided that another meeting will be held in the near future to discuss this topic further.
Did you REALLY expect Dr. Bailey to come to this meeting???? Its not a football game you know. He may have had to actually try to explain some things.
I commend Ms. Miller for her time and efforts put forth in this meeting. Keep me informed about the next one and I would Gladly attend. I did not return home today myself until 7:30 and just as Netmom, had the family dinner to take care of but would really like to know of the next one a couple of days in advance if possible. Thanks!
I personally had no idea he intended to come, and since I really know very little of the guy, I didn’t expect much one way or t’other.
Since this is such a hot button topic, mom goose, I’ll try to post PTO dates as soon as I know them, with reminders. The other schools start up next week and I’m sure they’ll be having big meetings as well.
If they don’t already, The Oak Ridger and The Observer should find out the times and post them, too.
