Around 3 o’clock I got a call from Willow Brook. From the nurse’s station. Apparently MastaG was running amok on the playground and smacked right into a metal bar with his head. The nurse was horrible unforthcoming with information over the phone, but she said he wouldn’t be able to ride the bus. Ugh. I’d have to brave
the car rider traffic.
AT got home just as I was leaving, so we headed out together. We got to the school, rushed to the nurse’s station and saw poor ol’ G sprawled out on the bed with his feet propped up and an ice pack on his noggin. He was awfully pale, but alert.
Apparently he was running at top speed (from girls, no doubt) and thought he’d be able to clear the bar and instead ran smack into it with his forehead. He didn’t lose conciousness, but the nurse said he was pretty shaken up when he was brought in. She strongly recommended we take him to the doc, so we did.
The doc gave him the all clear and said to give him Tylenol if he devolops a headache, and to keep an eye on him to make sure he doesn’t have any signs of a concussion. Roger that.
So as of right now, MastaG’s milkin’ it for all he’s worth, soaking up as much pity as we can muster. I can just imagine him giving the girls puppy dog eyes at school tomorrow.

Ice cream is the traditional cure for lumps.

MastaG’s a weirdo. He doesn’t like ice cream.

I think helmets on the playground are the next thing. It’s the new black.

Not even popsicles?

Aaargh… memories of the day the nurse called and said, “I think (Gamma’s) nose is broken.” From a kindergarten accident on the playground. Hope he feels better soon.

No, he’s ok with popsicles, but our younger one was eating the last one when the nurse called. Heh.
Netmom, this is the second time so far I’ve been called to school because MastaG fell. Last time he needed liquid stitches in his head.
Girls were chasing him that time, too.
Only had to go to the doc once with Pigpen. He tripped at daycare and his tooth went through his lip. Not pretty.

Damn girls. I know just how he feels…being chased constantly is a pain in the neck…or the head.
Hope he recovers slowly enough to enjoy all the sympathy he can get his hands on.

reminds me of the joke
two guys walk into a bar
the other one ducks
get well soon MasterG
and get all the sympathy from those girls you can.

October & Spotz were perplexed when he wasn’t on the bus, and even more perplexed when I told them he had run into a pole. Hope that he is feeling better.

I run into Poles all the time. There are three who work in my department.

Yeah Joel, but do you bang your head on them so the chicks will dig ya?
August 10th, 2006 at 9:38 pm
Two of them *are* chicks, daco.
But to answer your question: “no.” I’m a married man.

AT, do you remember the story of JG from CSAS who closed his eyes and ran as fast as he could inside the gym under the instruction that his partner would tell him when to stop? Poor ol JG when he hit that wall……

No, I don’t remember that one, but I can see it happening. What a dumbass…
