So, last night I had a dream that GAC and I and the fam moved into a condo/apartment kinda thing, because we’re too broke to keep our house. In the dream, we’re unpacking and bitching about how small the damn thing is (which would be something, given how small our house is now…) and just generally being unhappy about the whole thing, when Pigpen jumps in the empty bath.
For some reason, I’m concerned about him in the tub, so I start trying to get him out (not sure why there was difficulty pulling a 4 yr old out of an empty bathtub, but those are dream physics for you). In the process of doing this, I realize that the tub isn’t secure. And that its held up over about a 5 foot drop solely by cardboard boxes. And that the tub itself is cardboard, just cleverly disguised as tub.
I move the thing, and look down to a hidden section of the apartment concealed behind the tub. It has the same carpet and paint on the walls, and appears to be part of our place, rather than its own. Hopping down there, I find a living room and 3 bedrooms (one with a bathroom with presumably genuine tub, tho I didn’t try it). The living room has a massive HDTV, has to be 70 or so inches, hooked up on satellite. One of the bedroom has a more modest 50 or so inch TV. There is a screen door with a bitchin porch, leading out to a massive yard with playground facilities, and no signs of life (no apartments, road, power lines, nothin. Not even a baseball diamond in the corn.)
So, we had a party. The end.
Yeah, I was disappointed too. I thought it’d be cooler.

Quit eating pepperoni pizzas before bedtime.

No, as part of the “holy crap I went from 180 lbs to 250 lbs after quitting smoking” wake up, I don’t eat bedtime snacks. Metabolism and what not. Just water, brother, just water.
Besides when I have a dream, usually its weird as hell. This is only mildly surreal.

Hmm. Must be something in the water.

Yeah, massive amounts of yeast, hops and barley.

The point is, people, this place was freakin sweet. Thats totally where I’ll be hiding from the RIAA nazis when they come to get me.

Sadly, right now we’re too broke to buy good beer. I bought a 12 pack of Amber Bock last week for emergency rations, and we’ve only had a couple. Sigh.

I’ve had several dreams in which we got different/better places to live. One was tiny, but a massive kitchen window overlooked a beautiful lake. Another place seemed tiny, and then I turned a corner and found a massive living room that we didn’t use, apparently because it was in the wrong part of the house.
I attribute my housing dreams to being in interior design classes. And my ovaries.
Doesn’t say much for you, AT. ;)

If you figure out what this one means, let me know — I’ve had a very similar dream: opening the door to the bath area of our bathroom at the end of the hall, and finding that it led to a whole bunch of other rooms I’d never even seen before.
They were nice, big rooms with big windows, but unfortunately, decorated in the same tacky 1970s decor as the rest of the house (except the parts I’ve repainted or appliances I’ve replaced). Now that the kids take up much more room than they used to, I sure wish I could find that extra secret space again.

Whoa… dog 70s decor too much and you’ll get a non-confrontational GAC jumping down your throat.
I was impressed by the dream. The bathtub just lifted right up, there were some empty cardboard boxes holding it up, and a rocking addition to the house underneath.
I don’t think dreams mean much tho. I think it means that I like more space, gizmos, and suprises.

Who doesn’t like surprises? Except that one guy in The Crying Game.

And it’s not so much the 70’s stuff that I like, though some of it’s pretty bitchin’. I’m more of a 50’s kinda gal.

Yeah, nobody liked that surprise, as I recall.

According to a handy-dandy dream encyclopedia, finding a secret room in a dream means that you have new opportunities open to you in waking life. So, AT, that could be you registering for classes. Since the new room(s) were awesome, then I would think that subconciously you think that this new opportunity is a wonderful thing with many positive aspects.
Netmom, seeing those windows apparently means bright hopes and insight.

I can’t do the coughbullshit thing in writing, so pretend I just said it.
