The other day we discovered that one of our cantelope plants has finally produced a… cantelope.
When I took the two non-walkers out to catch the bus this morning I found, get ready for it, two new baby cantelopes. Woot!
Just look at ‘em…
Little cantelope no. 1
Little cantelope no. 2
mmmmm, cantelope. I can’t wait to eat them.

Aw, ain’t they cute. I’ve never been much of a cantelope lover, though. Watermelon’s the only melon worth eating, IMHO.

I’ve slowly begun to appreciate cantaloupe over the past couple years. I can’t wait until these little guys are ready to eat!

Cantelope is the bestest stuff. I like to cut it up into mouthsized pieces and crack pepper over it. Fresh black pepper of course. MMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmm good.

“Fresh black pepper of course.“
Um, ew? I’ve heard of (and love) salt on watermelon, but I’ve never seen anyone put pepper on cantaloupe (I’m going to spell it differently ever time.)
Watermelon is the only true melon. Cantaloop, honeydew and the rest are all just bastard melons.

She has a point.

Horsepoop. Cantaloupe (thanks for the spelling lesson GAC) most certainly is a bitchin mellon. Perhaps it’s just one of those tastes that appeals to openminded adults.
Don’t knock it if you’re too chickenshyte to try it.

“…but I’ve never seen anyone put pepper on cantaloupe…”
Sounds like that would make me unique.

Everyone’s unique.
Think about that for a minute.

I’m scared of trying new things!

Not in the realm of cantaloupe haters. They give up their right to be unique just so they can hang with a bunch of mellon haters…sad really.
