I didn't know about it. I followed that story, back when she was still a hostage, pretty closely. I don't know. To me there's a world of difference between our fundamentalist right-wingers and the mujaheeden, or any terrorist for that matter. Of course, in the end, Puritanism was a big push in the 20's and 30's too - things like that just keep revolving in America.
