Haiku 15

September 3rd, 2006 by The Bosphorus

Early September,
dirt holds rotten tomatoes.
Lazy man’s compost.

Short and quick haiku.
Our cohorts are on a trip–
hope they’re not bear food.

Chopping wood today
reminds me of yesterday,
sharpening the axe.

Many thanks to Mrs. Eaves– she wrote Early September.

    Late summer weather.
    Late midlife is similar;
    Both portend cooling.

    Big long assed drive home
    Only 3 hours, but feels
    Like long assed drive home

    Got GAC sick

    A five mile hike
Gets you right in your head but
    Hurts a soft body

    Ouch.

    Crocodile Hunter.
Poison snakes did not get you,
    but a sting ray did.

    A Dasyatidae
pierced the chest of Steve Irwin.
    What a way to go.

    venomous creatures:
    snakes, spiders, and scorpions
    none of those killed him

    but a sting ray did
    they are usually calm
    guess this one was mean

    “Let’s have a gander.”
    My daughter remembers him.
    I do too. “Crikey.”

    RIP.
