According to the website Joel sent over, Pigpen falls into the 15 percent of allergic Americans who are so allergic that blisters and swelling show up within hours instead of days of coming into contact. It (the website) urges emergency care for them.
And according to the doc we saw today, every subsequent break-out is worse than the one before. I hope like hell he was wrong, because if he's reacting so badly at the age of four, where does that leave us in a few years?

And I would also like to point out that in the picture on the left, Pigpen is roaring like a dinosaur, not screaming in pain.

Poor guy...hope this stuff clears up soon. If it were me my wife would have to duct tape some soft mitten to my hands. I would be scratching like crazy.

Poison ivy is bad! I always get bad cases of it - the bumps, blisters and hives - and there is no shortage of the supply around my house. It's pointless right now, but at the start of next spring I'm going to try some of that ivy killer stuff I've seen at home depot.

When I was a little older than him, I touched something I was allergic to - didn't know it then but through allergy tests it was deemed to be mold. My hands erupted with tiny little blisters which all eventually popped and I was left with raw, tender hands. The skin from the popped blisters eventually peeled and for a while I had really shiney new skin. I had to wear white cotton gloves for like 3 weeks while I was healing. Allergies suck.

Dude, that does suck. I did the allergy test where they pop you full of allergens and find out which bump gets the biggest, but I've never been really bad allergic to things.

I'm afraid that Pigpen gets his allergy (to poison ivy) from me, as does MastaG. All three of us require medical intervention to get rid of the damn stuff. AT is of hardy stock and rarely gets sick or has a reaction to anything.
Fortunately, the kids aren't allergic to other things that I am, like trees and grass and apples and corn and mold and pollen and rocks and stuff. I'm allergic to damn near everything.

He's ducky and soaking in the tub. He's looking pretty rough, but feeling well.
Getting him to clean the playroom's a bitch, though.

Poor guy! I recall getting it that bad (except my eye was swollen completely shut) as a child, but I haven't had it in years. At least he got to go to the doctor, back in the day I had to suffer thru with just my calamine lotion and a prayer. Hope he feels better soon!!
