Beautiful weather and bugs

September 20th, 2006 by The Bosphorus

Tis’ the season when the Boxelder bugs come crawling inside the house. We like to call them dumbbugs at the Cemestos Gardens, because they have next to zero sense of self-preservation. They come in out of the cold and that’s about it. Luckily they’re harmless.

Don’t ever plant a Boxelder tree nearby your home, unless you want the bugs that come with it.

I haven’t seen any Boxelder bugs, but Fall is definitely here: the really big garden spiders are again spinning huge webs along the eaves on my deck. They catch lots of prey near the floodlights, I guess.

The cats usually take care of any stray bugs that come inside.

I don’t imagine your Boxelder bugs do anymore harm than a ladybug, Bos. And they entertain me when I’m over there. I like the babies. They’re cute.

Netmom, “the eaves on my deck”??

What, did the Missus finally clone herself? Don’t tell me there’s more than one now.

    Yuk, yuk, yuk….
Now, re-read Bos’s last post and imagine him with a Groucho Marx pair of glasses, moustache and a cigar.

What else would you call the thing that covers the bottom part of the roof that overhangs the edge of the house? The Bos?
