Maybe you missed the invitation; but that takes care of dinner, and there will be some fun people around.

I don't think I'd haul the kids to a football game in the rain; they'd be cold and miserable. Save that for a dry night. However, the game should end by 9:30 or so, and there's likely to be a bit of imbibing going on back at the same place where the tailgate is happening. Sans polititicians (except me, and I don't count).

Interested? Let me know, and I'll send you the address.

Are you kidding? Any opportunity my inlaws give us to take the kids for an evening, we jump on.

Well, dinner and a movie first. The jumping comes later :)

Seriously - go. Do. Have fun. Enjoy. There are so few times parents have these days to just be a couple, you have to take advantage of them...

Option #6 is to stay at home with everyone huddled around the Lifetime movie of the week. While entranced by the drama of pregnant teenage girl battling an abusive boyfriend, eating disorder and rabid dog you fail to notice the pilot of the stove went out. Yadda yadda yadda... it ain't sushi no more now that it's been cooked.

Barry, typically we ain't got money for dinner and a movie. Then we spend an hour or so driving around, trying to think of something cheap/free to do or friends to hang out with. The friends (mojo) are never home when we call so we go home. At home we stare at each other, trying desperately to think of something to do, get really frustrated and go to bed. And then the friend calls us at midnight to see why we left a dirty message on his answering machine.
We never think of anything cool or fun to do until it's too late.
Awww.
Meice, that ain't likely to happen. We don't have cable.

Jen, I'm wearing a blueberry farm tshirt, does that count?

Daco, why get a hotel room in Oak Ridge? We've been married for 10 years, we're perfectly capable of being bored with each other at home!

What a boring attitude Mr. ATtitude. Spend the 50 bucks and treat your wife like she is somebody. You will regret it later if you don't.

with the exception of about two fridays in the last year, i can be found sitting at my favorite mexican resturant slurping up inexpensive 32oz glasses of dos equis. this practice is recommended and, although not terribly romantic, comparatively inexpensive fun.
