Awww crap!!! I’ve been reading these posts with a heavy heart, and praying all the while. Resurrection is a very cool thing - but the before part is definitely not. All the nuns are still praying. I’ll let them know about this part. Oddly enough, the beauty’s still there. Love ya

BJ sounded sure of what her intentions were. It’s so odd to think that only 3 months later they would be such a help to you. Please don’t let this setback take away your newly kindled faith. God loves BJ and everyone and would never punish any of you in this way. If you ever question why this world has such sadness, please know that God is not the source. The Bible answers at James 1:13 “When under trail, let no one say: ‘I am being tried by God.’ For with evil things God cannot be tried nor does he himself try anyone.” So God is never the source of heartbreaking situations like you are now thrust into, but he will give you strength to get through it. My prayers are with you in your difficult time.

I think you should go with the diamond (if need be). I don’t know you guys, but from what I have been reading about GAC, she has a wicked sense of humor. I think the diamond would be awesome.Hopefully, after a while, you would be able to look at it, laugh, and say, “Hey, it’s what you wanted.”

My Father-In-Law and I used to pick on each other like crazy. His funeral was on my birthday. When everyone realized it and started making a big fuss about it, I told them it was just him getting the last laugh.

Praying that you never have to make that choice.

Looking online it seems to be on the up-and-up. Company has been featured on NPR and in the Chicago tribune. Seems to have been around for a couple of years, at least. No negative reports that I can find.

If you can afford it, it sounds like a great idea.

I think it sounds like a very cool idea, my mom and sister would agree. I’d never heard of that, but I’d heard of them doing stuff with pet cremains so I guess it makes sense that they can do something like that too…

When you have had time to heal, find a copy of the British series, “Rocketman”, with Robson Green. I know this sounds insane at a time like this, but watch it. You will understand.

I don’t think it’s weird, either. Like I said back then, it’s pretty awesome.
That being said, I do think that they’re more expensive than they need to be - but you’re paying for something so incredibly unique and special…that it could very well be worth the money.
One consideration with this option is perhaps having three of them made - one for you and one for each of the boys when they reach the right age. Yeah, that would be oodles of expensive, but I’d be the first in line to put some cash up for it.

The owner of the funeral home on “Family Plots” had it done when his son died. He has 3 daughters and they chose how they wanted it done. Earrings and a ring. It took about 1 1/2 years to complete the process. But the result was beautiful. I don’t believe you will not need to worry about the cost. It’s way better than having the ashes sitting on your sons bookcase like my son’s dads ashes are.

I just lost my Dad this year and that’s exactly what I was planning on having done with some of his ashes. I spread most of them in the ocean where we’ve gone since I was a little girl and I’m having the rest made into a diamond pendant so he’ll always be close to my heart. Corny but it’s what I want and I think my father, being a geologist, would get a great kick out of being a diamond. He always told me they were worthless, I’m proving him wrong!

Do what feels right to you, not what anyone tells you is right or what you should do. If that’s what she wanted, do it. Like you’ve said in another post, it’s equal to the cost of a burial and a heck of a lot more useful. I also agree with kidsmom that it’s not nearly as creepy as an urn.
