So, Nodbob and I got the drums out and started working towards our future death metal band. Neither of us are real fans of death metal, which I think is why its fun to do.
We were at Walmart today, and I noticed a nice (by walmart standards) set of drum heads marked down from 50 to 20, and had to buy them. Yes, another Christmas present for me, JT.
So, we just installed all of them, and then discovered that the damn bass drum is too big. Gor.
So, we’ll head out to el shoppo du musico shortly, where I’m sure I’ll spend money.

In other news, we went to an antique shop, where I made, arguably, the greatest purchase of my life:
Nodbob, additionally, got the Stray Cats, which is cooler to listen to, for sure, but certainly not Killroy was here, which is more suitable for framing with respect to the cultural milestone that it was.
Yes.

BTW, whatsa matter with NodBob’s wrist? Drum related injury? Arm wrestling Ninjas?
December 17th, 2006 at 6:53 pm
Good ole NodBob hurt his wrist on his skate board! Time to move on…or trade for a wheelchair. Hay, that’s a nice Christmas present for the boy.

Did you know Styx is in concert on Dec. 28th Saint Louis, MO. and Dec. 29th Merrillville,IN and Jan 13th Mobile,AL. Just a little info for ya. :-) Several more dates but further away.
December 17th, 2006 at 7:28 pm
Ooooooooooooo! You got to love Styx in full motion picture glory — damn. So did you spin it when you got home?
December 17th, 2006 at 7:33 pm
It is totally playing right now;
“The problems plain to see…
Too much technology…”

What can I say, except, Bisc, that it will be a while yet before I retire from the ol’ wheeled contraption known in some countries as the skate board.
And, Allisone, I actually got it from arm wrestling bears. Wild Grizzly bears. It’ll be healed by the end of the night, I’m sure…

Styx was on the state fair circuit a while back and we had the great fortune to see them. I hope they come back to Oregon some day. We have a nice state. It just rains a lot.
December 17th, 2006 at 7:44 pm
I’d love to see some Oregon.
December 17th, 2006 at 7:45 pm
NodBob, wow arm wrestling wild grizzly bears while on a skateboard! Now that’s impressive.
One of the pics the husband had taken for a Biz 2.0 artilcle was of him on a skateboard on top of the confrence room table. That one didn’t make it into the article, but it was kind of cool.

No one has mentioned the boo-boo on Nodbob’s head. He is a magnet for painful, yet amusing incidents.
December 17th, 2006 at 8:37 pm
I assumed that was a birthmark. A Gorbachev thing.
December 17th, 2006 at 9:38 pm
I got that Stray Cats album when it came out. Memories…lighting the corners of my mind.
December 17th, 2006 at 10:11 pm
What does Nodbob do for a living? I like his hair, but am just curious.
December 17th, 2006 at 10:22 pm
Ok, am I the only one who thinks NB
is looking up all wistful, like when the Brady Bunch people are all arranged in a grid gazing lovingly at one another? I bet I’m not.
December 17th, 2006 at 10:45 pm
Kathy, for you:
December 17th, 2006 at 11:00 pm
I frame original oil paintings for a guy down in Atlanta. My boss doesn’t mind the hair at the warehouse, which is cool, but I do have to wear a hat when on the road.
December 18th, 2006 at 2:14 am
I am assuming that last entry is from NB, not AT. And BTW Nodbob I love your hair. My son in law just tried one and I told him it just was not quite right, having seen yours last month. And thanks, Kathy, I knew that wistful look was familiar (having grown up with Brady Bunch being my second MOST favortite show behind The Partridge Family), I just couldn’t place it….till now.
December 18th, 2006 at 2:28 am
Uh, yeah, evidently ol’ Nodbob was impersonating me…
December 18th, 2006 at 11:52 am
I would also add that NodBob has a nifty little batman style belt that he gets to wear at said job.
(hoping you’ve gotten that little tights issue worked out by now, dude).
December 18th, 2006 at 12:15 pm
I’m still ironing out the details, but I believe the full costume has been ordered!

Dude, that was the first album I ever got as a birthday present, the styx one. I was in 6th grade and my boyfriend, John Lousteau, got it for me. domo arogota mr. roboto, or whatever…
