The Missus is trying to accept what is, because it can’t be changed.
I’m disgusted and not looking forward to the ass pain returning the table will be.
The bright side is that World Market has another of ajara table in stock and has already marked it for us. Now I will have to get it back into the truck and return it to the store.
Ah, well…

That stinks. I wouldn’t accept the table either. Nasty crack!

Nasty crack, indeed. What the pictures don’t show is how the table falls apart at the crack when you lift it up.

Bummer!

bunch of SOB’s!!! That would get me –especially if you got all the way out at the creek.

I would also (demand) get myself a discount on it for all the trouble you have had to go through!

Good luck on the discount. Once they have your money they don’t like to give it back. Maybe if you ask for a coupon on a future purchase instead.
It is beeyootiful wood though. Once you get a table that doesn’t fall apart it will be a great story to tell.

Say, anyone out there free this weekend to help us return this beauty? We’d be happy to throw in a beer and/or peanut butter and jelly sandwich for your troubles…

I am of no help! I would be more than happy to be there, we actually have a huge trailer that my husband uses for his business. We live in Nashville, you can kinda see the problem. :-( I assume the trailer that AT used earlier is too small? I’ve been in your situation and it’s such a dissapointment to find out there’s a problem. So sorry!

Thanks for the thoughts, Southerncharm. :) Bos actually has a truck that the table fits into nicely…the problem is lifting the darn thing - it’s well over 100 pounds and cumbersome, and being 37 weeks pregnant, I’m just no help at all.
December 21st, 2006 at 10:21 am
37 weeks preg. can’t help? Shocking.
December 21st, 2006 at 10:25 am
Eek. That’s bad. I’m glad they marked another one for you.
December 21st, 2006 at 10:47 am
Yeah, the trailer is in GA anyway, I don’t see it heading that far up north again.
Eaves, I’ll be back home this weekend, I’ll give you a call.

Man. I am so sorry about your table. I would have cried.

Odd - we just returned our table to Furniture Row - the finish was bubbling, which after less than a year, it should NOT have done. Thankfully, they agreed and even though we were buck up against the end of the warranty, they swapped it out without a word.
But it’s a BIG table and wedging into the back of my Toyota minivan TWICE was an adventure…

Those suckas are HEAVY. We have the Sourav, which my hubby somehow lifted into his truck unassisted without damaging everything in sight especially his self. Those things weigh more than 100#, and they sooooo should have known about the crack.
Cost Plus a barrel of annoying.
They should give you some of those fancy international brews they sell for all your trouble. And some sweets for the missus.
