Is stalling.
Growing up, we’d get back from the 5 PM Christmas Eve mass, have dinner, and then we gathered in the living room to open the presents. Only, Mom would be gone. It’d take about 30 minutes, and during that time we were asked to wash dishes, sweep floors, etc.
It was infuriating, but we kept a smile on the whole time.
Every Christmas, I rediscover the joy of the stalling game. Now that we’ve eaten (all except for Pigpen, who’s still working on it), I’m not sure what to make them to yet. So far, I’ve had them put up clothes, clean up some, and various other odd jobs.
I think maybe I’ll go to the bathroom for a while, and read.
Man, I love Christmas…

“Man, I love Christmas…”
That totally flies in the face of everything you’ve ever posted about Christmas. Of course, I think you could easily plug in “Man, I love torturing the kids…”, and then it would have all made sense.

Looks like the boys had a great time! What did they think of the new bed and computer? (did I miss that?)
Merry Christmas!!!!
