One of these kids is doing his own thing…

… one of these kids just isn’t the same…

Oh hell yes. You can guess which one’s being funky right now.

Theres something else with getting the actual music instead of… ahem… downloading and burning CDs, the MP3 of the first song on Mothership Connection is evidently truncated, because the record goes on for an extra 4 minutes or so of makin’ my funk the P-Funk.

Oh yeah, those are my bitchin shoes in there…

We were calling the kiddo the p-funk monk this weekend. (Her nickname is Monkey, and she was singing a … yeah okay, this is indeed a pointless comment.)

    Nice music, nice shoes…

Wish that nice shoes and nice music were enough to ease the weight of reality.

Well, they are, Kate. Its the wee comforts that matter sometimes (well, there isn’t really anything wee about my shoes)

The man buys vinyl. Bring him another round…

Seriously, CDs become nearly unlistenable once you get your hands on a good turntable. Looks like you musta made that pilgrimage back to Kville after all.

Indeed I did, indeed I did.
Man, I’m getting mighty proud of my record collection. I’m fixin’ to pop another one on now.
I’ve always been a record guy. I don’t necessarily believe that theres a distinguishable sound difference, other than the pops and cracks, but the asthetic of records is so much more pleasing. The big cover art, the inserts. The black rotating circle.
    Good stuff.
CDs, digital stuff, I have no qualms at all about downloading it, because I love music, and I think music should be relatively free. I pay back bands I like (that need the money) by buying their records, or t-shirts, or going to their shows.
When you buy a record, its ownership of something more precious, I think.
    People say I’m a looser tho…

I like the White Stripes, but there is no comparison to the Mothership!
