Wikipedia taught me that today is the Twelfth Night celebration.
In Tudor England, the Twelfth Night marked the end of a winter festival that started on All Hallows Eve — which some now celebrate as Halloween. A King or Lord of Misrule would be appointed to run the Christmas festivities, and the Twelfth Night was the end of his period of rule.
So, it started on Halloween, and ends today, huh…?

Today, or tomorrow evidently. Tomorrow makes more sense. Twelve days after Xmas and all.

And tomorrow is Epiphany…also 12 days after Christmas.

Yes, it’s the 6th (today), Saturday. Also, the day one traditionally purchases and eats the first “King Cake” of the season. It’s a festive Louisiana/French tradition. Me, I like the doughnut king cakes.
