You take a test drive and say how much you like the car. He gives you a number. Then (and only then) you give the first number you've got. (If it's lower.) You might also want to mention how much you like the salesman/dealership and how you'd love to give them your business. If the second number is lower, you call the first guy and tell him how much you liked him but you've got this other number so.... You walk in and say you’re interested. You take a test drive and say how much you like the car. He gives you a number. Then (and only then) you give the first number you’ve got. (If it’s lower.)

You might also want to mention how much you like the salesman/dealership and how you’d love to give them your business.
