How’s your Audio Configuration?

While AT’s computer is a Ferrari, or maybe it’s a 1982 DeLorean, the Cemestos Gardens PC is piece of crap. It won’t play music anymore. There’s no song in its hard drive. I click on itunes and it back talks ever so politely:

itunes has detected a problem with your audio configuration…

Of course there was last week when this first happened and we did a system restore. It worked fine till about an hour ago.

Stupid computer.

Have you tried to reload your audio drivers? Sometimes third party software reconfigures stuff that ought be left alone.

It probably just barfed up the sound card drivers (that’s my high-tech uber geek phrase of the month, BTW). See if the card has updated drivers available at the maker’s web site. The uninstall the sound card by removing it from the Device Manager. Then install the new drivers, then reboot.

Sound cards can be a real pain … I highly recommend the Santa Cruz line, I have the Turtle Beach and love it. They are very polite and well-behaved, unlike a very popular line whose name starts with “Sound” and ends with “Blaster”

Good advice from Timsan1 and LissaKay. Usually, just updating the driver will do it.

I have SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio. The computer doesn’t give me much info at first glance. Can’t find the right driver on the internet, yet. Going to eat breakfast.

Ok, Found the driver at Dell.

    Woot!

My computer has its voice again. Great advice, thanks.

A couple days ago in a neighboring town a Delorean waiting at a light went up in flames. Seeing the tv footage really hurt my heart.

We need another crazy guy with lots of money to start producing cars like that for this age.

  8. Jacket Says:

Deloreans run on the white line down the side of the road. They mistake it for other white lines.

    Sorry, an old 80’s joke.

    I don’t get it — oh, cocaine.

  10. Atomictumor Says:

    Cocaine indeed!

I believe that is how he financed his auto endeavor. Anyway — I kind of like the Deloreans — they just spend too much time in the shop and there are no parts.
