Esposito beats down the commish
March 27th, 2007 by Atomictumor
In an editorial that I only wish I had written, hopped up in a righteous fury on trucker speed and whiskey, Oak Ridger’s Richard Esposito climbed up in the grills of the three Oak Ridge elected commissioners (Jerry Creasey, Harry Hitchcock, and John Shuey) that voted against the County making a stand and supporting the Crestpointe thing, and laid down a whuppin.
I’m not going to detract from the thing by paraphrasing it here, but he does call to task the sheer dumbassery of elected officials working against what appears to be the best interests of our city.
Look, if you haven’t come to the conclusion yet that this thing is pretty darn foolproof, you haven’t been reading long enough. Netmom has a good post about the facts of the situation, and Daco’s gone and buddied up with the Future of Oak Ridge people to try to get this thing laid down to bed like it should be.
Still tho, damnation, this disappoints me. Particuarly you, Creasey, because, dammit, we backed you back in the day. Anybody who doesn’t have the sense to vote because they’re elected, and not because they’re going to wait to see what the people that elected them voted for, doesn’t need any more endorsements. They need retirement. Maybe a nice tomato garden.

Nothing wrong with a nice tomato garden mate.

Amen, Little Bro — these guys need to be doing something different.
I voted, but I didn’t have a choice… my county commissioner died and gave Whitey a free pass.
I do still miss Larry.

Dickens was what appeared to be very well liked an knowledgable kinda guy.
That commissioner dying thing is scary from a personal POV.
Too bad for these commissioners. It appears they took the “safe” way out. Done so my self but not on such an important issue.
Plans not finalized or “clear” that is the best and most overused cop out in politics.
