Haiku on the porchu

April 22nd, 2007 by Atomictumor

Ahh, Sunday Haiku
My favorite thing to write
Thoughts, five seven five

This weekend was nice
Sorry, no post yesterday
Doing my own thing

Pigpen, MastaG
Friday night at the inlaws
I bought the gun case

But we discussed that
No reason to bring it up
Sits in the kitchen

Pigpen stayed last night
G and I saw a movie
Had a real good time

He needs time away
From the 4 yr old brother
And rarely gets it

This morning, coffee
Maybe Cracker Barrel cakes
And then get Pigpen

I cleaned up the house
It was a disaster, man
Now, acceptable

A confession now
I totally missed 17th
Until the nineteeth

No one cares but I
That I missed the five month mark
I’m OK with it

Scabs came off, be damned
If theres not fresh skin under
C’est la vie, I guess

It seems like so long
I get sad if I dwell, now
But not all that sad

She’s still my soul mate
But I’ve accepted she’s gone
And my life moved on

In fact, been thinking
That I wouldn’t mind a date
But I’m too obtuse

As a reminder
Proper ettiquette is that
Comments are haikus

    Weather finally nice,
    The lawn was mown yesterday.
    The first time this year.

    October, on the
    fast track to pre-teen unrest
    I was there once, too

    Spotz defends himself
    with a multitude of tears
    It’s okay to cry

    Lugnut figured out
a long time ago how to
    have all eyes on him

    Wingnut and Bumbo
    are fast friends - finally,
    a good investment

    A sigh of relief,
    the yearbook is almost done
    Next year - someone else

    Lucinda last night
    Downtown Grill and Brewery
    Meal before the show

    State Street Stout is great
Alt is not half bad either
    White Mule ale is grand

    Carrie Rodriguez
    Act opened for Lucinda
    Absolutely huge

    Rodriguez was great
    Very talented lady
    Buying her CD

    Lucinda was fine
    The tune selection was weak
    Crowd was too rowdy

    Evidently there
    Are far too many rednecks
    That like Lucinda

    I have spring fever
    Being irresponsible
    having too much fun.

    Fundraiser next week
means that I need to clean up
    and make house look nice.

    Grilling on the deck
    hummingbird cake to share with
    friends who drop on by.

    Ulster project done
On to new and better things
    Thanks to friends that helped.

    the trees just won’t bloom
the frost took a toll it seems
    welcomed warm still though

    “obtuse” {psh} excuse
time will be telling, you know
    you will see, i bet

  6. Bullet Says:

    I’ve always liked it–
The smell of a fresh cut lawn
    Memories of home

    No multitasking
    The sun, the wind–it’s freedom
    My mind takes a stroll

    Neat how it happens,
Between thoughts of dreams and truths,
    I think about you

  7. The Bosphorus Says:

    itunes on repeat
    listening to arcade fire
    the neon bible

    love, abide in me
The word I read this morning
    While I was at church

    screen saver pictures
    flash shots of my family
    helps the memory

  8. Jane Says:

    Aaah Life, it goes on
    Pain comes/goes, memories stay
    But Life? It goes on

  9. pink painter Says:

    chuck e cheese again
    Please oh God never again
    Oh the noise the noise

    Little miss thing danced
Chuck danced with little miss thing
Then we all got down with it

    Then the question came
Chuck, can you touch nose to toe?
    Oh how fast they learn

  10. Arlene Says:

    la la la la la
I never was good with words.
