Apparently at Pellissippi State’s graduation ceremony, our very own GAC graduated Summa Cum Laude.

Good job, sweetheart!

I’m trying to stealth this in rather than take up another post with it, I got this in the mail today (the 8th).  Its very bittersweet.  She worked very, very hard for this, going to school part time around the billion other things she did.

Congratulations, BJ, you did it.

My magic toes are the master of my technology

Monday, May 7th, 2007

So, I’m working from home today, and all the sudden I lost my internet.  As those familiar with telecommuting well know, losing an internet connnection is a bit of a handicap.

So, I cussed at it.  It didn’t work.  Then I turned everything off, and turned it back on again.

Still didn’t work.

I cussed again, but I wasn’t expecting it to do much.

Finally I called Comcast.  Their phone robot asked me for my phone number, and then denied that it was my phone number.  I gave it another number, which it rejected.  I gave it a third number, and it called me a dumbass and put me through to a human.

She asked for my number.  It didn’t work.

She asked for my name.  I spelled it both the way it was on the bill, and the way it’s supposed to be spelled (I have a complicated canadian/scottish name, with more than 6 letters).  It wasn’t in the system.

Finally, she pulled it up under my account number.  Still wasn’t working, but I didn’t mind, on account of having nowhere to be (except in front of the laptop, working).

We talked geek for a bit, data was exchanged over internet tubes, and it still wasn’t working.  The requisite number of lights were off, and clicking the reset button had no effect.  Usually, it tends to turn all the lights off, but this time it didn’t.

So, I kicked the bastard.

All the lights promptly came on, and I was able to get on the internet.  I thanked the gal, and limped back to work.

Christabel and the Jons live at Oodles

Monday, May 7th, 2007

I told you I recorded some stuff from the excellent Christabel and the Jons show last Friday. I worked it up on the mixer a bit, but was a bit hampered by the fact that while my phone can pull up a powerpoint presentation all day long (ask me how many times I’ve done that), it doesn’t have the best sounding microphone in the world.

That said, hell, here ya go. It was a damn fine show, and this should whet your appetite for seeing the band this Friday.

Don’t live in Oak Ridge?

We’re conveniently located near the intersection of I-40 and I-75, adjacent to a Waffle House and a Hampton Inn!

and

And seriously, if you like this, Love & Circumstances is a damn fine CD, and recorded on much qualitier stock than this stuff. Its worth a purchase.

Well, I’m kinda posting these with prior knowledge by not express written permission, so we’ll see. If I get sued, my representation is located at
