3 computers + 1 disc = A lot of work

How do you get one disc to run on three computers in the house so the kids can play something like Age of Empires 3 against each other over a lan?
Well, technically, you’re not supposed to. And thats where I’ve always taken issue with the direction the software industry went. I can listen (for now, at least) to a CD over several speakers in my house.
Now, I know, I know, “AT, each player is using an individual process when they do LAN multiplayer stuff, where the CD is just the same electrical signal sent over a few extra wires, so its really apples and brain surgery”
Hush.
No, I’m of the thinking that when 40 bucks is layed down for a game, its layed down for the house. Back in the days of yore you could hook up two controllers to your Nintendo and rock on with the up up down down left right left right B A start and all the sudden you’d have two people playing Contra. They didn’t want you to get two separate games, and jump through a billion hoops, to smite your little brother on the video game.
Yeah, maybe I’m idealistic about my video gaming. Maybe I need to catch up to the real world, where to get whipped by my 10 year old on a game that we’ll both be sick of in 2 weeks SHOULD cost me 80 bucks. Maybe I need to shut up. Maybe I need to get a life.
Or maybe instead I’ll spend 3 hours cracking it.
Hee.
