Anniversary mothery sunday haiku
May 13th, 2007 by Atomictumor
“Made up holiday,
Moms kick ass but I don’t like
Buying greeting cards.”
A year of haiku
started Mothers Day ‘06
pat myself on back
Times are a’changin’
But you already know that
One trip round the sun
“mother” means more now
Insight comes at a high price
More valuable
I bow to the moms
Tip my hat and wink my eye
No greeting cards, tho
—
Last night at bedtime
When I tucked them in, we talked
We spoke of Mommy
I said “She holds you
with hands that you can not feel
and cradles your head”
“She whispers her love
With words you can’t hear with ears
But can with your heart”
“Mothers Day is yours
Because you are what’s left, boys
Your mom is of you”
“She is always there
When you’re happy, when you hurt
She loves you so much”
The boys went to sleep
I think they can feel BJ
Theres comfort in that
I take comfort too
Even if I don’t feel her
She is their mother

Happy Mother’s Day!
Frogs and flowers makes Moms Glad.
They like legos, too.
A year of Haiku,
Woot! Another year to come,
and come what may come.
Days I see B.J.,
The way somebody will look,
I miss her again.

BJ loves her boys
My son, I also love you
On this mother’s day.
My child, know that I
Also wrap my arms around
You, in all my thoughts.
Though I am not there,
I hope you can feel my love
As I pray for you.

What a wonderful and emotional post. To are caregivers everywhere you couldn’t have said it better. You don’t need greeting cards.

Hey Jake..Just getting caught up on reading my emails. I certainly thought of you, Gabe, and Asher this Mother’s Day as well. Our prayers are with you and your little family. May God continue to keep you all in His care. May He continue to give you strength and courage at all times. Please, please don’t give up on God. He is with you at all times. Keep praying and praying. We love you very much. Love, Aunt Bec
