Good eats in Oak Ridge

May 21st, 2007 by Mrs Eaves

Because I’m lazy busy and haven’t posted much lately, AT has given me an assignment. Looks like the ‘tumor has been tagged twice to do a food meme. Okay, I’ll bite.
1. Add a direct link to your post below the name of the person who tagged you. Include the city/state and country you’re in.

2. List out your top 5 favorite places to eat at your location.

Mediterranean Delight

The Original Time Out Deli

Big Ed’s Pizza

El Cantarito

Magic Wok

Because I’m lazy busy, I’m not going to go into great detail about why I like these places. Just know that they’re all locally owned hole-in-the-wall type of places (which are always the best), three-fifths of them sell beer, and they’re all very tasty.

3. Tag five others.

I’d like to know what other Oak Ridgers enjoy, so here goes: sumgirl, Daco, Netmom, LissaKay and Evan.

Man, I would have gotten more enthusiasm out of my 10 year old, and thats saying something.
BUT, its better than what I did.
    So, uh, I’ll shut up.

I’ve thought about stopping by the Magic Wok but just the look of it makes me think food illness. Is the orginal Time Out Deli in Grove Center?

  5. Suzanne Says:

When I lived in Oak Ridge (about 6 yrs ago) these were my favorites:

    Saigon Number One Noodle House
    Time Out Deli
Magic Wok (I LOVED the fridges with 2 liter soda bottles for refills… )
    Soup Kitchen
Jalisco (Is it still even there?) They made the corn tortillas as you ordered them… Yummy fish tacos!
Bleu Hound (lunch specials, only… everything else was too expensive)
