Wingnut is on his second round of antibiotics in so many weeks[edit: 3rd in three weeks] all for a hardy ear infection. He appears to have picked up a runny nose from Lugnut. Eaves and I were up with him off and on last night. To make matters worse, the antibiotic has upset his stomach. On the bright side, we’re using cloth diapers now so we don’t have to throw away those diapers he’s blowing through. :)
Then there’s Lugnut who had to come home early from nursery school yesterday. He has the afore mentioned head cold. Right now he’s lounging on the couch. No he’s up and wants to play with the dog. Now he has a flash light.
October has a fouled up ear lobe from one of her new earrings.
Spotz and the Missus are wearing biohazard suits and I also have our friendly head cold which I’ll name, Reginald, or Reggie for short.
Want one, too?

Is Wing too young to eat some yogurt? That can help replenish his ‘good’ bacteria. Also, be on the lookout for possible thrush. Candida (yeast) loves to take over with longer antibiotic use.

Hope all are well soon.

Thanks for the offer, but I think I’ll pass on that.
Would you like me to send you some vitamin C? If mom is nursing and she takes some it’s like giving it right to the baby!!
Hope everyone is healthy soon!!

October may be allergic to nickel (I am) and I have to be very careful with earrings. My daughter had a very lovely abscess due to earrings and when I took her to the doc, they told me stories of a little girl who had to go to the hospital and be put on IV antibiotics.

Oh dear- I hope the kiddos start feeling better soon! Peppermint and ginger work wonders for upset tummies… Hang in there!

Those earrings are gold, EmmaLeigh, so I don’t think it’s a reaction to the metal. I could be wrong, but I think she just needs to clean them a bit better.
We’re going to have to weather this out. That’s all you can do, and eat yogurt.
I love me some yogurt.

I’m so allergic to gold earrings. Instant infections from gold or cheap nickel. They sell these cheap plastic sleeve things that slide over the earring post… a god send! Might want to check those out. They sell them at those little girly stores (out here they’re called claire’s).
Get well soon! BTDT and it is so not fun.

Thanks for the heads-up on the plastic sleeves, JennC. We’ll have to look into some of those next time we’re at the mall.
Ends up it’s a staph infection and she’s now on oral antibiotics as well as an ointment. She first got her ears pierced in late March and is still wearing the original studs; I was surprised that an infection turned up after the standard healing time. I know better now.
As for the rest of the turkeys, Wingnut’s not showing much change yet, but perhaps tonight will be the turning point. Lugnut seems to be doing better. Spotz and I are planning a party (or a nap) in our bubble tomorrow.
Thanks for all your well wishes, guys.
