Last night I went out to pick up MastaG from the massive Safety Patrol Conference bus caravan at East Town Mall Dilapidated Ghetto Mall Knoxville Center, and damn. I’ve never been in a crowd consisting of family of 1100 odd tweens who’ve been 700 or so miles away for 4 days, but its an experience everybody should be around at least once. Its a bit like a concert parking lot (without the hippies) (except me, I guess, geez), hundreds of parents who’re exhausted and wild eyed from a long weekend with no tweenie supervision.
It was good to get the boy back in the car. Its one of the kinda things where you don’t realize how much one person in the house makes the house operate until that person is absent.
He had a good time. Saw the DC sites. Took no pictures, because his camera spent the weekend right where I left it after telling him not to forget it, his dresser.

Oh the pain of never being a safety patrol and never getting to wear the sacred orange belt!!
I feel like I’m back in 6th grade again.

What a great picture. Glad he made it home safely. JT is jealous and wants safety tips.
