Its rediculous that it was even put IN the war appropriations bill. We don't need that sort of Federal ID... SSNs are ENOUGH. Jebus

Hmm, this whole national id card thing...I don't get it. Seems like an SSN is the national id card, and there is already a database, it's called Social Security Administration. SSN's are required for all of the things listed, passports, etc. How would this new id benefit the gov?

I realize that the two issues are separate, but I have to wonder. Would you be in favor of a national ID card if you were interested in tightening our southern border?

In a conversation with a friend yesterday this subject came up. It might be to the country's advantage to open up a processing center like Ellis Island and furnish the citizens with this type of ID. It would give the country control and they then would be able to do backround checks on the people entering our country. Just an idea. I am not saying no immigration I am saying controlled legal immigration.

Wow, thats a bold statement. I've been to a monkey knife fight, and those things are pretty damn fun... I'm trying to be more realistic with my hopes, Joe.
