The burn of the dragon
Monday, July 2nd, 2007So, yesterday at PunkHP’s party, MastaG had a freaky allergic reaction to the combination of the henna tattoo and, evidently, the chlorine in the water, which made the tattoo essentially change from a tattoo into a big ol allergy in the shape of a dragon.
Threw some benedryl on it, itching went down. Picked him up after work, damned if it wasn’t right back up again.
So, a few lessons:
1. Henna tattoos aren’t for MastaG (Pigpen was unaffected, and still sports the Jack Sparrow tat)
2. 40 dollars goes better toward getting a real tattoo anyway.
3. Damn, thats a reaction, ain’t it?
Thats a good pain face, isn’t it? Its the only picture he’d approve for the ‘tumor.
He’s of the opinion, not necessarily shared by his father, that it’d be cool if it left a dragon shaped scar.
Yeesh.
OK, so maybe biblical floods aren’t how to start the week…
Monday, July 2nd, 2007I offer you the Beta Band instead. Enjoy!
Church of England: “Repent, ye sinners, lest ye be flooded”
Monday, July 2nd, 2007Some bishops from the Church of England say that flooding going on in England now is the result of the angry hand of God, going around smiting folks for permissive lifestyle legislations and just generally not doing what the good people running the various churches tell them to do.
While they do acknowledge that maybe, just maybe, some blame needs to be placed on enviromental havoc and whatnot caused by 200 odd years of industrial fortitude, they’re saying, for the most part, its that whole ‘being good to the gay guy thing’.
Rt Rev Graham Dow, Bishop of whatnot, sez:
“In the Bible, institutional power is referred to as ‘the beast’, which sets itself up to control people and their morals. Our government has been playing the role of God in saying that people are free to act as they want,” he said, adding that the introduction of recent pro-gay laws highlighted its determination to undermine marriage.
“The sexual orientation regulations [which give greater rights to gays] are part of a general scene of permissiveness. We are in a situation where we are liable for God’s judgment, which is intended to call us to repentance.”
He expressed his sympathy for those who have been hit by the weather, but said that the problem with “environmental judgment is that it is indiscriminate”.
Thus far, the Host of Lords has made no comment on the situation.
One possible explanation has been found, however:

Hmm. Has Hollywood gone to far this time?

As an amendment to the story, while doing a bit of cursory research this morning, I found this tragic story about a Solway couple who was killed, and then found this page, with one of the first commenters immediately crying that the end of the world is at hand.
Hows that for a Monday morning?
