Poor little Syrup (Syrupy, has she was called, the transgender beta fish) died at some point over the last day or so.
I haven’t told Pigpen yet (he’s spending the night with a friend) or cleaned out the tank yet. I figure he’ll take it pretty well, tho…

Ceremonies were held in the backyard, underneath the hickory tree, with Pigpen and myself in attendance. It was agreed that Mom now has a pet fish.

Pigpen is currently shooting MastaG with a nerf gun and being goofy, so no serious psychological damage is evident.

Might want to put some safety goggles on MastaG; Beta had a seriously bloodshot right eye when she came home yesterday.
Was there anything about combat pay in her contract?

I have a red beta, Saki, with tank that you can take.
Really, I tend to forget to feed him and then feel way to guilty. He was my cubicle fish at work. Everyone came to my desk to poke at Saki. But Ive been home on maternity leave for a year and he no longer gets the attention he deserves.
