So, how do you tell if you’ve got a bad beer?

I’ve heard of beers gone bad, but have never experienced one myself. The Missus brought home a six pack of Shiner Hefeweizen after her Thursday night out that just tastes really… funky.

It’s been a while since I had a Hefeweizen and I don’t remember them tasting this bad.

Because copper is 100 percent recyclable

Warning….

Don’t let your copper tubing get yanked.

Because copper is 100 percent recyclable and selling scrap copper can be lucrative, thieves will target the material when the price increases.

Indeed.

A copper thief or thieves hit the Knox County Library System’s Howard Pinkston Branch sometime over the weekend and caused enough damage to force the facility to close for repairs.

The thief or thieves raided four of the building’s five air conditioning units.

“There was not a bit of copper left in them,” said Mary Pom Claiborne, communications administrator for the library system. “I don’t know why they did not take copper from the fifth one.”

This is going to cost Knox Co tax payers $15,000.

Lugnut goes to school

Thursday, July 19th, 2007

I just got home from dropping Lugnut off at his first day of preschool. Much like his first day at nursery school last year, he walked in, started playing, and all but shooed me and Wing out the door. After his hour-long tantrum during the Child Find appointment, I am relieved that he felt comfortable in the classroom.

We are fond of saying about Lugnut, “He’s 100% of everything.” If he’s happy, it’s 100% happy - and he’ll let you know it. If he’s upset, it’s 100% angry loudness. So this morning, with Wing asleep and Lug at school, the house is very, very quiet.

It’s a strange feeling to have 3/4 of the kids in school - one part lonely, one part liberating, and one part something else I can’t quite describe.
