Little bits at a time

August 19th, 2007 by The Bosphorus

I’ve decided it’s time for me to quit dithering about grad school and start moving. You know, get off the toilet, so to speak.

I’m going to take the bonus that Knox Co gave some of its employees, pay the GRE registration fee and I’ve already bought a study guide. Yesterday morning I got up early and took the diagnostic test which didn’t reveal any surprises. It confirmed that I’m fairly solid where the verbal parts are concerned, but weak in quantitative section.

Then I’m hoping to enroll in U.T.K.’s Info Science program next fall. One class at a time, though a small start, is more than what I’m doing now.

I finally fixed the dryer yesterday. Turns out that a broken, $11, fuse was the culprit. Once that was replaced the machine heated right up.

Woot!

Told ya you could do it! The dryer, I mean.

Congrats on the schooling, sounds like a great plan.

    Way to go Bos!

Go Bos! Don’t you just love the feeling the you and a very few dollars beat the “you gotta buy a new dryer” blues?

Ours ended up being about $20 (2 parts), but beats the heck out of someone else telling me when to buy a dryer.

Sounds like a great plan, Bos. Even if it takes a while to finish, it’ll be worth it.

Yea Bos! I think you should go for the whole deal and get a PhD so we have to call you Dr. Bos.

I’m also very proud of your defeat of the dryer. We had faith!

I’m pleased with both the impending furthering of education and the fixed dryer. Dr. Bos has a great ring to it!

Thanks, Guys! It was a great feeling when I heard the gas ignite inside the dryer.

Hmmm… Dr. Bos. Sounds like I should have super powers, or at least a drama on network tv.

Congratulations and good luck on the grad school decision. You won’t regret it.

However, I must tell you that the Ph.D. doesn’t come with any powers, super or otherwise. It does sometimes involve networking and maybe even drama, although I don’t consider the latter desireable.

  9. Allisone Says:

But … Dr. Bos would make a great James Bond villian!
I’m sure that’s what Joel meant by drama - right?

    Yay and Yay!!
