Seriously.
That’s been running through my head all day. While I wouldn’t be surprised if the kid in this case was a jackass, as several of the reports I’ve been reading and youtube videos I’ve been seeing seem to imply, its still, to me, obviously a situation that just doesn’t surprise me at all in this day and age, a period of time where the ‘68 democratic convention cop riot wouldn’t even make the front page.
But that phrase…
“Don’t tase me, bro!”
Damn if that doesn’t just sum up something of America in the latter part of 2007…
So I had this big idea to start making t-shirts of it, and was talking to some of the guys at work about it (to go with the other t-shirt ideas I’ve had, I’m a t-shirt guy), but hellfire, somebody beat me to it…
Still tho, I’m full on expecting “don’t tase me, bro” to be the new thing. The internet meme.

Completely unprofessional behavior by the cops. This kid was annoying, sure, but the purpose of a taser is not to repay someone who has insulted or inconvenienced you. Tasing is a form of self-defense, only to be used when the cop is being threatened with bodily harm. They should fire the cop who did this.

You got it AT…..
The Don’t Taze Me, Bro Meme
You have been tagged. You need to list five things you have done in your life that you think (not the cops) could have put you in a situation where you might have said “Don’t Taze Me, Bor”
Then tag five of your friends.
**Running away cackling now**

Although, if that becomes a real meme, I totally want credit for inventing it even if I won’t use it.

Florida cops don’t mess!
I always though troopers were the worst but these campus cops are something else.
Maybe they are dealing with inferiority issues by overcompensating.
I grew up in Miami.

Yeah, but if you watch the video, the guy WAS resisting and fighting with the cops and trying to get away, which I believe does constitute resisting arrest. He should have simply calmed down and stopped trying to get away from the cops. I think that will be their justification for the Taser.
I’ve also heard a supposedly eyewitness account on Air America where another student claims that the video didn’t show just how aggressive this guy was. It is claimed that he rushed the microphone and pushed others aside when asked to wait his turn.
He was definitely not completely innocent in this matter. I don’t know where the line is for cops to use the Taser and I’m not saying they were neccesarily justified here, but I think they can make the case that this guys aggressive behavior was disrupting the entire meeting and when they attempted to escort him away from the microphone, he elected to violently resist, which started the entire affair

Now idiots are making a fortune of the phrase…check out this site:http://www.cafepress.com/thecrazyirish/2638690
I will admit however, it is pretty funny on an infant t-shirt

I think that private citizens should have tazers. I’d have happily put it to the pain in the ass myself and saved the cops the trouble.
