Bonnaroo 2008 - the very first post
Wednesday, February 6th, 2008“Beep” said my new phone. It was Jenwright, and it said “U gon see Pearl Jam?”
“Oh crap” the Lady and I said “the Bonnaroo lineup”
We shuffled a shuddering dog around (its been thundering), and pulled up the webpage.
Is it 1994? Did I hit some weird time loop? Pearl Jam and Metallica are headlining Bonnaroo? Didn’t they already do a Lollapallooza like that?
We went down the list, finding some neat bands, like Allman Bros, Raconteurs, M.I.A., !!!, Vampire Weekend, Rilo Keily. Maybe Allison Kraus.
“Tickets are going on sale next Saturday.” I told Ladyfriend
“Well, your mom will be up, and shes going to be laughing at us buying tickets on Saturday morning.”
“You think they’ll sell out that quickly?” I asked
“No. Not with that lineup. I mean, c’mon, Pearl Jam and Metallica? Metallica? 90 percent of those people don’t know how to use the internet…”
