Bonnaroo 2008 - the very first post

“Beep” said my new phone. It was Jenwright, and it said “U gon see Pearl Jam?”
“Oh crap” the Lady and I said “the Bonnaroo lineup”
We shuffled a shuddering dog around (its been thundering), and pulled up the webpage.
Is it 1994? Did I hit some weird time loop? Pearl Jam and Metallica are headlining Bonnaroo? Didn’t they already do a Lollapallooza like that?
We went down the list, finding some neat bands, like Allman Bros, Raconteurs, M.I.A., !!!, Vampire Weekend, Rilo Keily. Maybe Allison Kraus.
“Tickets are going on sale next Saturday.” I told Ladyfriend
“Well, your mom will be up, and shes going to be laughing at us buying tickets on Saturday morning.”
“You think they’ll sell out that quickly?” I asked
“No. Not with that lineup. I mean, c’mon, Pearl Jam and Metallica? Metallica? 90 percent of those people don’t know how to use the internet…”

The kids these days love them some Pearl Jam and Metallica but I bet they will be sleeping in so you shouldn’t have to fight for tickets from that group. We saw Allison Kraus when she came to Knoxville 4 or so years ago. She was fantastic.

Man, I still can’t get Metallica and Bonnaroo together in the same sentence without either laughing or snorting…
Pearl Jam, well, I ne’re liked but one of their records, the second one. Since those are the headliners, and if this year is like last year and nobody plays while the headliners are playing, maybe that’ll be a good time to take a nap, or eat dinner, or drink copiously.
Jane, we’re totallly going. Which more than likely means that I’ll be writing little posts on my phone, and turning on that mobile post plugin that kinda breaks the tumor for everybody else while I’m there, so be ready for that business. I’m pumped. Between the nice ass weather we’re having today, and the thought of me and the gal going to Bonnaroo together, I’m all excited.
