Yesterday haiku

February 10th, 2008 by Atomictumor

We had some pancakes
We drank our morning coffee
And she went to work

The boys and I left
Spending at Mams and Papaws
I stayed for a spell

Then I ran errands
Well, one errand, I suppose
Replace a trombone

Confusion, a bit
From Middlebrook to Western?
Ladyfriend called me

It was glorious
Windows down with music on
Reached destination

Empty music store
And I had nothing to do
So I played guitars

Half hour or so
I took off, back to the ‘ridge
The spirit moves me

Work lunch with my gal
A tasty Wendys burger
We talked and we laughed

The id3 tags
Were the rest of my evening
Keeping files neat

And then she came home
We embraced and had a drink
Then we went to bed

I woke with such peace
Sun rising, deer in backyard
Loving everything

Dude, its days like these
That center you and fill you
And the ones you love

  1. Mrs Eaves Says:

    Mom called this morning
    She’s out of money again
    Talked of coming back

    I struggle to be
    a listening ear, not a
    frust’rated critic

    Her situation
    the result of choices made
    It’s her life, not mine

    I try to smooth out
    my rough edges, my anger
    my self-righteousness

    yesterday was a
    reminder of eighteen years
    that pass so quickly.

    bro’s big birthday was
    celebrated with music
    of own creation.

    sounds of symphony
    echoed changes of his life
    boy grows into man.

  3. Kelliqua/VABluebelle Says:

    Warm air, daffodils
    pushing up to sun remind
    that Spring’s almost here

    Redneck yard looks good
    after cleaning and dump run.
    Garden prep begun

  4. aka Ladyfriend Says:

    Spent weekend working
It will be worth it later.
    Next whole weekend off!

    Hard to see friends hurt.
I have been there before, too.
    My thoughts are with them.

    Keep your chin up, Eaves.
You have grace and love within.
    Keep in the sunlight.

    You are courageous
    and you love your family.
    Get your strength from them.

    Decisions are hard.
    Do what your heart says.
    Clouds will go away.
