Moving haiku

Sunday, November 18th, 2007

Mighty deeds are done
The old house has been emptied
Just needs to be cleaned

sspx0579.jpg

We are both weary
Early mornings and late nights
Loaded 15 trucks

sspx0582.jpg

Thats just this weekend
As in the past two days, mind
Thanksgiving deadline

Flammability.
I set my hand on fire
But it didn’t hurt.

As she moved the fish
From the tank to the bucket
I started to think

That screwed their world up
60 gallon existence
Is the world limit

When we poured them in
After the tank was set up
I had to wonder

reincarnation?
Or something like that, hell man
I’m too damn tired.

Haiku about Beauty

Sunday, November 11th, 2007

One year ago now
I had an epiphany
Of a certain sort.

We were on the roof
Of the GAC garage
(Wasn’t called that yet)

Was talking to Bos
Had “Moment of clarity”
And I understood.

Called it “The Beauty”
And it saw me through trials
And it sustained me.

No matter how low
Or how hard my life became
It kept me focused

I knew it was there
Even when I couldn’t see
Because of the hurt

I still understand
That I don’t know much at all
But I don’t have to

I know that I love.
I love my little punk kids
Who went through it all

Love my lady so
Who is sweet grace and beauty
And who understands.

Project haiku

Sunday, November 4th, 2007

I’m doin projects
With drills and wrenches and stuff
Like a manly man

I’ve wanted projects
Many times in the past year
With nothing to do

Fixing a bathroom
In the new Tumor abode
Been a fun challenge

I used to get mad
When something didn’t work right
The first time I tried

But not anymore
The little irritations
Got nothing on me

Two trips, Home Depot
Just for a dollar washer
And I still smile

October Haiku

Sunday, October 28th, 2007

Fire in the hearth
Waking at a new old place
Crazy plans forming

As the leaves drop down
The world starts playing ‘possum
And you think clearly

Thoughts go to last year
The last few days with BJ
Before the sickness

Thoughts of tomorrow
They come just as easily
With a girl I love

The girl in the past
Her memories sooth my heart
A smile of youth

Girl in the future
She holds my head in her arms
And she loves my past

It all collides well
Like leaves dropping from the trees
To fuel the beauty
