Charlotte on my mind

Friday, July 27th, 2007

I’m temporarily breaking my tumorbattical to let you guys know that my friends (and yours) Katie Allison Granju and Knoxjon are at the hospital, about 5 weeks early, to give birth to little baby Charlotte. Most of you guys probably already know about this, but I wanted to mention here that we’re all praying or otherwise whatever it is we do, and are thinking of you, Katie and Jon.

Best of luck, and the world waits for baby Charlotte!

The things we hold dear

Wednesday, February 21st, 2007

Bos left for work this morning with Wingnut’s favorite pacifier in his coat pocket. We have a back-up here at the house, but it’s not quite the same. The other backup - me - seems to be his preference right now.

It reminds me of when Lugnut was a baby. He never took to a passy, but nursed every hour or so for the first six months. Phew.

Wing had his 1-month checkup this morning. All is well - he’s up to 10 lbs., 4 oz. & 22″ long. Poor little chap had to submit to a nasty RSV test - a long swab up the nose - because he was exhibiting a few cold symptoms and our CPNP wanted to play it safe. Lugnut had RSV as an infant, and while it didn’t get nearly as bad as it could have, it can be a terrible illness for newborns.  Wing’s test came back negative, fortunately.

On a completely different note, did anyone do anything fun for Mardi Gras yesterday?

Back to work

Monday, February 5th, 2007

Keep Bos in your thoughts, guys. He had to return to work today after a lovely 3-week paternity leave.

I have had my concerns over what life would be like with me & four kids at home. I’ve been anticipating a very dirty house, plenty of takeout, and no time to take a shower. Today, I’ve been pleasantly surprised as both the vacuum and the sound of the shower eased Leo into naps, Lugnut took a nap himself, and it seems like dinner won’t be a problem (tuna helper, but dinner nonetheless).

Lugnut is very serious about his trains.

Leo’s going to start smiling soon. I can’t wait!
